Vehicle Description 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster * VIN 82859 * Engine No. 732594 * Transmission No. 83427 * Porsche - Kardex * Completed - December 22, 1956 This is a turnkey, running-and-driving 356A Speedster finished in Red with a Black interior. It is solid and rust-free, with no clips, and retains its original decklids. According to the Porsche Kardex, this T1 Speedster was initially delivered by Hoffman Motors in New York, New York, and was finished in White with a Red interior. Factory options include US bumpers, sealed-beam headlights, a 1957 model badge, and English instruments. The paintwork is driver's quality with patina. The interior is complete with VDO instrumentation, Speedster seats, door panels, door tops, and a VDM steering wheel. The exterior is complete, including the chrome windshield frame, soft-top frame, bumpers, and 4 ½ x 15 wheels. The undercarriage is solid and rust-free. Mechanically, this Speedster has benefited from an extensive service by European Collectibles, with approximately $25,000 invested. Significant mechanical work included a comprehensive overhaul of the braking system, suspension, and fuel systems, along with the installation of a new muffler, transmission mounts, axle boots, a clutch kit and clutch cable, a voltage regulator, a fuel petcock, a steering coupler, shocks, a distributor, a coil, and a battery. Additional services included valve adjustment, ignition tuning, and spark plug replacement. The braking system was fully rebuilt with new brake rotors, calipers, pads, hoses, and master cylinder. Powered by a 1600cc flat-four engine (Type 616/15), paired with a manual 4-speed transmission (Type 741/2C) and four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with the Porsche Kardex, owner's manual, and spare wheel. An incredible opportunity to acquire a solid, mechanically sorted T1 Speedster that can be driven in as-is condition or is an excellent candidate for a future restoration. |
